About Puckett Physical Therapy
Athletes Deserve a Team That Gets It
Puckett Physical Therapy was built for athletes by a team that lives the same lifestyle. We know what it costs to miss a season, lose your spot, or get stuck in a recovery program that doesn't understand sport.

One Clinic. One Mission. Get You Back to Your Sport.
We started Puckett PT because standard physical therapy wasn't cutting it for athletes. You deserve 60 minutes of focused, one-on-one care with a Doctor of PT, not 20 minutes with an aide and a cookie-cutter program.
What We Stand For
Our model isn't just different. It's intentional. Every decision we make is built around getting athletes back to full competition, not just functional daily life.
Athlete-First, Always
Every program is built around your sport, your goals, and your timeline, not a generic protocol designed for the average patient.
100% One-on-One Care
Every minute of every session is with your Doctor of PT. No aides, no hand-offs, no double-booked waiting rooms.
Lasting Change, Not Band-Aids
We don't manage symptoms. We find the root cause, rebuild the athlete, and send you back stronger than you were before.
Rooted in San Antonio
From Alamo Heights to MacArthur, and from St. Mary's to Texas A&M San Antonio, we're part of this athletic community, not just treating it.
Meet the Doctors Behind the Results
A team of sports-specialist DPTs with board certifications, residency training, and a shared passion for keeping athletes in the game.

Dr. Tim Puckett
PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Puckett is the founder of Puckett Physical Therapy and has been practicing for over 12 years, including more than 6 years working alongside San Antonio Spurs team physicians. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) — one of the highest credentials a PT can hold.
His passion is helping athletes of all ages return to sport stronger and more resilient than before. Outside the clinic, Tim is a husband to Diana, a proud father of two athletes, and a living kidney donor who attends church with his family and finds purpose in serving others.

Dr. Abe Garcia
PT, DPT, SCS, Barbell Rehab Certified
Dr. Abraham Garcia earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed a two-year sports residency, earning ABPTS Board Certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). He is passionate about helping athletes at every level recover from injury and get back to competing at their best.
Dr. Garcia has deep roots in the San Antonio athletic community, having worked with local high schools and universities including Alamo Heights, MacArthur, St. Mary's University, and Texas A&M University of San Antonio. When he's not in the clinic, he's at a sporting event, outdoors, or spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Zach Knapp
PT, DPT, Running Rehab Specialist
Dr. Knapp graduated from the University of New England with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and launched his career in Colorado working with a highly active population — ultramarathoners, rock climbers, high school and college athletes, and even a competitive jump roper. That range gave him a deep appreciation for sport-specific rehab and the importance of returning athletes to exactly what they love.
At Puckett PT, Dr. Knapp brings specialized expertise in running rehab and gait analysis. When he steps away from the clinic, you'll find him cycling, running, or on the basketball court.

Dr. Alexis Vera
PT, DPT
Dr. Vera is a San Antonio native and former collegiate basketball player at the University of Dallas. After tearing her ACL multiple times, she experienced firsthand the physical and mental demands of returning to sport — and it became the foundation of her commitment to physical therapy. She earned her DPT from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Dr. Vera is dedicated to helping athletes and active adults recover from injury and return to competition with confidence. She understands what it takes — not just physically, but mentally — to get back in the game.
