Orthopedic Physical Therapy in San Antonio, TX
BUILT TO MOVE. BUILT TO LAST.
When you're dealing with a musculoskeletal injury, you deserve more than 20 minutes with an aide and a printed sheet of exercises. Our board-certified OCS specialist leads every session, meaning you get hands-on manual therapy, one-on-one time, and a program built for your level of activity.

What You Miss When You Settle for Standard Insurance PT Care
You're Treated by an Aide, Not Your PT
In most insurance-based clinics, the PT evaluates you once, then hands you off. Your actual sessions are supervised by a tech or aide, not the person with the clinical expertise. That's not what you're paying for, and it's not how you recover faster.
Your Program Doesn't Match Your Activity Level
Standard PT protocols are built for the average patient, not for someone who lifts, runs, or plays sports. If your program doesn't match the demands of your life, you'll plateau before you ever get back to doing what you love.
You "Finish" PT but Still Don't Feel Right
Getting discharged from PT doesn't mean you're fully recovered. Without proper progression and hands-on manual therapy, many patients hit a wall, functional enough for daily life but nowhere near where they were before injury.
The Puckett PT Orthopedic Difference
Our clinic holds the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification, one of the most respected credentials in physical therapy. Every session is with a board-certified specialist, not a generalist. Combined with advanced manual therapy techniques and Blood Flow Restriction training, this clinic is built for athletes and active adults who need more than the standard model delivers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about orthopedic PT at Puckett Physical Therapy? Here are the answers we hear most.
Will I actually work with a PT or an assistant?
Every session is one-on-one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. No aides, no techs, no handoffs. We hold the OCS board certification, which means every patient works with a clinical specialist from their first visit through discharge.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a cash-based clinic. That means no insurance-driven limits on session time, visit frequency, or who treats you. We accept HSA/FSA, Tricare, credit and debit cards, and most payment methods. Superbills are available if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
Do I need a referral to start orthopedic PT?
No referral is needed to begin. Texas law requires a physician prescription after two weeks of treatment, but you can start your evaluation and initial sessions first. We can help you coordinate that prescription through a physician of your choice if needed.
What manual therapy techniques do you use?
Our orthopedic PT includes joint mobilization and manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, trigger point therapy, dry needling, scraping, and cupping. We also use Blood Flow Restriction training for early post-surgical cases where loading needs to be reduced while still building strength.
How is this different from what I've already tried?
If your previous PT felt rushed, generic, or supervised mostly by someone other than your PT, this will be different. You get a board-certified OCS specialist, one-on-one for 60 minutes every session, with a program built specifically for your body, your injury, and your activity goals.
